The "Low-Down" on Instruments from the Internet

Instruments from Ebay (and other internet sites) always look like a great deal. But, from my experience these are low quality instruments.

Here are problems I have encountered:
-bridges are cut incorrectly and continually fall off - very frustrating for your child!
-instruments difficult to tune and do not stay in tune - very frustrating for the teacher!
-instruments have a terrible sound quality
-most repair people will not fix them if they break
-strings are cheap and sound tinny
-bow is extremely cheap and easily breaks or stops tightening/losening

Ebay (and other purveyors of cheap instruments) always advertise the instruments to sound better than they actually are...
